Medprostor in the running for this year’s Dezeen Award for their exhibition design of BIO27 Super Vernaculars. This project has been longlisted in the exhibition design (interior) category.
From the nomination description:
“Medprostor has headed up the exhibition design of the BIO27 Super Vernaculars in Ljubljana, Slovenia. "Walls, planes, piles and lines of firewood are a part of the Slovenian visual landscape, as almost 59 percent of the country is forested," said Medprostor. In the exhibition design for BIO27 Super Vernaculars, the 27th Biennial of Design, logs are used as modular, stackable elements. The scenography explores the aesthetic potential of raw traditional material implemented in simple but surprising ways, creating a spatial intervention that embodies the topic of the biennial and foregrounds circularity. By only using the standard logs and non-invasive stacking and binding methods, all the material was returned to the supplier for further resale and use.”
Dezeen Awards is an annual awards programme identifying the world's best architecture, interiors, design and sustainability projects, as well as the studios and the individual architects and designers producing the most outstanding work. This year’s winners will be announced in November 2023.
