Futuring team members Žan Kobal, Tamara Lašič Jurković in Barbara Predan, the authors of the BIO27 open-source tool kit on sustainable cultural production, will at Bali FAB Fest 2022 head a special workshop on creating a sustainable materials toolkit, titled Sustainable localities: A material toolkit.
The aim of the workshop is to establish a library of locally available and environmentally friendly materials suitable to be used by makers. The library will be open-source, made in a way that will invite everyone to add new materials to the collection later on. The library will thus grow over time and serve as a convenient tool, inspiring local and foreign makers to develop their projects in a more sustainable manner.
Bali FAB Fest will take place between 12th in 22nd October on Bali. The aim of the event is to connect global networks of digital fabrication, green technologies, and digital innovation as well as to promote and enable meaningful collaborations between innovators, makers, entrepreneurs, organizations, and the public sector. Speakers include one of the leading pioneers from regenerative and distributed design Kate Raworth, architect and thinker Indy Johar, director MIT Center for Bits and Atoms Neil Gershenfeld and many more.
