First Aid Kit
First Aid Kit, assembled by bureau bauer, is an open-source info-tool that facilitated the arrival of refugees in their shelter countries. The most important basic information on how to navigate a foreign environment is translated into icons, which can be individually printed and distributed freely in order to communicate and accommodate without any language barriers. First Aid Kit is a visual tool that subtly considers cultural and religious differences and efficiently answers questions that newcomers might have. The project is one of bureau bauer’s so-called inclusive designs, a barrier-free design initiative that tries to reach marginal societies. It received the European Design Award in 2016.
