Commonplace books are compilations of knowledge that started in Antiquity by collecting information in books. They can also be regarded as scrapbooks filled with diverse topics such as quotes, poems, recipes, prayers and so on. The installation created by Commonplace Studio presents the interactive Commonplace Book, which compiles “ambiguous knowledge”. It consists of a series of tablets presenting objects and texts that question the concept of time. The piece also leaves several blank spaces, which should be filled with the individual knowledge of its visitors, thus creating diverse versions of Commonplace Book.
